I like ramen, especially Japanese ramen. Everytime I go to Japanese restaurant, I would try their ramen. So far (until today) all Japanese ramen I tried are pretty good or average. However, today I finally have an opportunity to try the worst Japanese ramen.
I went to a Japanese restaurant chain (named it as SK la) today after work. I have not been to this restaurant ever since another Japanese restaurant (called it as SS la) opened in QB. The last time I been to SK was probably 2 years ago. So happen that today SS closed for their annual dinner, I went to SK to have my dinner. I ordered a Chef recommended ramen called "Spicy XX ramen". The ramen is served with chicken meat ball and some veges and boiled egg. When the ramen was served, I tried the soup first. To my great disappointment, the ramen is tasteless. I don't know why it called "Spicy" while it is not spicy at all. Then I tried the ramen. It was over-cooked until it was too soft. Same goes to veges. The so called chicken meat ball was over deep fried. I was forcing myself to eat it and I could hardly finish one third of it. At the end, I stopped torturing my stomach and ordered some sushi.
I am quite surprise that the food quality of that restaurant drop so drastically. At least the last time I went was not so bad. I know nowadays many food chain restaurant are cutting down their cost to endure the economy downtime. But one thing they should not cut is the quality of food. How do they expect customers to return after having the bad experience? For me, that would be the last time I would go to SK.
